We are strangely obsessed with oppression and offense...

“We are strangely obsessed with oppression and offense. It's damning and dangerous. This doesn't mean oppression doesn't exist--it does in ways both sides either cannot or will not admit--because it exists to varying degrees within all categories as well as across categories. Any set of categories on any continent in any country. This doesn't mean offenses don't exist--they do in ways both sides either cannot or will not admit--because they exist to varying degrees within all categories as well as across categories. Any set of categories on any continent in any country. Elements from within all sides of the political kaleidoscope are in the game--all or both sides...sometimes it's hard to see how many sides there are through the 'toxic fog' of both filtered and unfiltered media. All sides. In the race to one-sided definitions of justice, for wealth, celebrity or power (often all of these), humans appear without shame to be in a competition for who can spot the greater oppression (real or not) or the greatest offense (true or not). What more, it is accelerating because it is has become celebrated, encouraged, and 'normalized' by today's media (all forms)--and mostly because it generates profit--the money is too strong. Shame on us--all of us. No one wants to look back through thousands of years of history to see that, in some fundamental ways, we haven't really changed much. Humans claim absolute truth and seek only to neatly package their version of oppression or their version of offense in an impenetrable bubble of time and space that must be named empirical truth. No intentional oppression is right or good. Not yesterday, today or tomorrow. Not within a category or across categories. No intentional offense is right or good. Not yesterday, today or tomorrow. Not within a category or across categories. It's a nanny-nanny boo-boo state where all manner of real humanity gets hurt in the 'toxic octagon of filtered and unfiltered media' and often the actual issue is subtly passed into tomorrow and on to the next day--never to receive the attention it needs for a real solution that might lead to a better tomorrow for 'we the people.'"
