We the people...
This is our country – “we the people.” We own this place.
WE.
While he is our President, this is not Donald Trump’s country.
While he was our President, this was not Barack Obama’s country.
This is not Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan, Chuck Schumer or Nancy Pelosi’s country.
This is our country. “We the people of the United States of America.”
If you put only Democrats in a room and said “fix it” -- in short order fights and division over “how to run this place” would break out and they would begin categorical division.
If you put only Republicans in a room and said “fix it” -- in short order fights and division over “how to run this place” would break out and they would begin categorical division.
Neither Democrats nor Republicans are the enemy…no more than you and I.
There is a case to be made that “all of them” benefit from a broken system and that so long as all “we the people” do is fight and scream at one another…they win.
There is an insulated, protected class of individuals in politics, power and private industry who get rich watching the world burn.
Regretfully, it is quite obvious that the money and power are too strong. So they (regardless of category) seek to divide us...and keep us just so.
"They" don't really want to fix things...because the financial and power-based incentive just doesn't appear to be there.
I don't think it's much different anywhere else...to some degree or another.
In this life, ideological difference is a guarantee.
Just look to your left and right—even within a given category of humanity.
It’s OK to disagree…so along as we acknowledge compromise and strive to work together to make this a better place for tomorrow and the next generation.
What’s not OK is the constant nourishing of Hate which leads to unnecessary violence and marginalization of “the other” for illicit gain at their expense.
With our vote and our pocketbook -- “we the people” have more power and influence than any one President or session of Congress.
We own this place. Not him or her or them.
We could do something about it.
What if it just started raining?
