Life is a bit like a tall building...
Sometimes life is a bit like a tall building...
You simply can't see or understand some things...until you get there...
When you're on the 1st floor, no matter how much you wish you could (or believe you can), you can't see what they see up above...
When you get there...you will...and in your own way.
When you're on the 4th floor, no matter how much you wish you could (or believe you can), you can't see what they see up above...
When you get there...you will...and in your own way.
When you're up on the 35th floor...your entire perspective--world view--is subject to change dramatically.
Each floor is some concoction of age and lived experience--and different for everyone...
No building (human life) is superior to another...only different...
No set of "floors" (lived experiences) is superior to another...only different...
We might all look just a little different, speak different languages and are born into disparate circumstances...but we are all the same.
There is only one category: Human.
When you get there...you'll see it.
What if we celebrated the rich nature of human diversity that makes this such a cool planet?
What if we stopped using the categories to hate, belittle or dehumanize "the other" for purposes of profit and power?
What if we stopped creating new categories to divide and polarize?
What if we embraced our shared, common humanity?
What if it just started raining?
What if...
