What are you going to do with yesterday?

We all have done and said things we wish we hadn’t…

We’ve also said and done things we are glad we had…

We’ve all had things done and said to us that we wish had never been done or said…

We’ve also had things said and done to us that we are glad we had…

For better or for worse…we are where we are…

And for better or for worse (mostly up to us)…we are going where we are going…

Not learning from the past is foolish...

Living today and tomorrow with regrets from yesterday is an unnecessary and heavy burden…

Keeping the heavy “bricks” of hatred, prejudice and bitterness in our “backpack” only slows us down...and candidly, turns us into the very monsters we refuse to forgive or let go…

Choices

Today is made up of the good, the bad and the ugly…whether we like it or not…

Sometimes life is unfair…

Sometimes life is fair…

Sometimes good things happen to bad people—who do and say bad things…

Sometimes bad things happen to good people—who do and say good things…

Sometimes life is just right…

Sometimes life is just wrong…

Sometimes we make good choices…and we are best off to learn from them…

Sometimes we make bad choices…and we are best off to learn from them…

Much of life we can control…by making good choices, working hard and doing our best to make the world a better place—each in our own bubble of influence and responsibility…

Some of life we cannot control…so the choice then comes how do we respond to what which we cannot control…

The question remains—what are you going to do with yesterday?

Take yesterday’s lesson and let it make tomorrow stronger…better…

Take yesterday’s hardship and let it make tomorrow smarter…wiser…

Win an Olympic gold medal one day…still gotta’ get up and live the next day…the thrills and rewards of yesterday’s victory soon fade and we must walk into tomorrow…

Bad things have happened to everyone…

Good things have happened to everyone…

No matter where we are born, what language we speak or what color our skin is…we are all broken, imperfect humans navigating at times a cruel, unfair world that will “beat you to your knees and keep you their permanently if you let it…” (Rocky Balboa)

For all the strife in the world…recognize that it’s always been like this…and despite our humanity, this is a very cool planet…and I like it here!

The best is always yet to come…because we choose

So, what are you going to do with yesterday?
