Something to have a think on…
Everyone has one...an expiration date that is…
While we are used to looking at the milk & eggs or medicine we buy to ensure the expiration date is still good—before we consume…rarely do we consider that—as a human with a finite number of heartbeats—each one of us also has an expiration date.
The contents are what’s important...
A gallon of milk never consumed…wasted…
A dozen eggs never cracked…wasted…
The difference between milk and a human life…is that milk gets a “date” stamp—we know when it will expire.
There is no “stamp” for a human—generally always impossible to predict…but everyone has an expiration date.
Nobody lives forever…every human heart eventually beats one last time.
Death visits differently for everyone whether through accidental tragedy, natural causes, the evil intentions of those who hate or of our own doing…but death still comes…
Many have no say…
Some leave us too soon…
Some get to stay on and enjoy many happy years...
The contents of a human life are what’s important...
Can’t take money with you…maybe this should change the value of money…
Can’t take status with you…maybe this should change the value of status…
Can’t take anything with you…maybe this should change the value of things…
What are we all here for anyways?
Are we here to gratify self at the expense of others?
Are we here for something bigger than ourselves?
No one chooses when they show up (are born)…and the vast majority never choose when they depart.
